Module 2: The Greek Verb

Here we begin to learn the Greek Verbal system, which is more complex than English, but it allows for Greek to communicate flavor that is richer than English.

MODULE 2 DETAILS

• Learn the 5 Greek verb tenses and two moods

• Learn up to approximately 80% of the word occurrences in the New Testament

• Modules 1 & 2 cover approximately the first two semesters of Greek you would get in a college or seminary setting for around 5% of the cost

• Covers through the second half of The Basics of Biblical Greek textbook

Module 3: Intermediate Greek

Once you have learned the basics in modules 1 & 2, you are ready to dive into more intermediate concepts. This module is about syntax, or how words work and how we are to understand the constructions.

MODULE 3 DETAILS

• Learn the syntactical categories for nouns and verbs

• Learn about textual criticism and how scholars arrive at the most accurate translations based on the texts they have

• The supplemental textbook for this mod is The Basics of New Testament Syntax

Module 4: Advanced Greek Readings

Once you have the basic Grammar and syntax of Greek down, we use those skills to practice reading. We read various readings from the New Testament, the Septuagint/LXX (Greek Translation of the Old Testament), creeds, early church writings, and more. Join us as we apply our Greek in all sorts of fun and exciting ways.

MODULE 4 DETAILS

• Read the early church Fathers in the original language

• Branch out in your experience of Greek to other texts and time periods

• Classes help us practice together and get you started to read on your own

• Some Greek Readers will be suggested, but most of our texts can be found online for free
